Forums - Sales - Over the long term, Sony is in a tough spot

How will things pan out?

MS will get USA, Nintendo will get Japan 41 19.52%

Sony strong with global strength 168 80.00%

Total:209

With RoW growing bigger every gen, I don't think Sony is an hard spot for the future if nintendo actually takes japan and xbox america.
That said we are early in the gen so it's pretty normal so far that regional advantages are still there from last gen (First year buyer are hardly the ones changing sides). If Xbox One is still ahead in NA 2 years from now, they can start worrying, otherwise, Sony is having it's best times since 2006. And not only the game division.

Around the Network

I would say, PlayStation Brand is bigger then SONY it self. So that alone is enough to keep the competition. Even if Microsoft can reclaim back the throne with Xbox 2 ( for example) or NX is success and become number one in Japan in he future, thing will not be simple. SONY in the future if they want they can just cut every department and keep moving with Playstation. Even at the current state SONY with all the division they can still be the winner. Maybe they are not as strong like in the 90's, but their brand is still on the top 50's or some chart still on the top 100 of people mind, i think PlayStation is even better then SONY it self.

I forgot to add something, actually SONY is not just selling PlayStation as a physical console, they also selling PlayStation brand and service. The reason they keep using the same name from the early day( PS1 until PS4 even their portable gaming and service (PS Now, PS Plus etc)) and trying conquers home console market share is to make their PlayStation brand to be number one Video games industry to be precis Home Consoles Industry.

Spanking takes that much energy? I never knew lol.
