Forums - Sony - Rather than lower the price of the PS4, Sony should.....

Offer a bundle packed with the Playstation TV.

Mine is supposed to arrive tomorrow from Amazon.com but I'm so excited!  What if you bought a console and they basically give you a spare console to use elsewhere in your home?  You'd jump on that, wouldn't you?  That's what the PSTV does!  You can stream games from your PS4 and even use a PS3 controller to play your PS4 games.  Even the PS4 doesn't do that!  Add in the ability to download your previously purchased PS1 and PSP games.  Add to that the ability to play Vita games upscaled on your HDTV.  That's a hell of a deal!  And it only retails for about $40 these days.  What do you think?

Plus, the PSTV is supposed to be the size of a deck of cards. I'm gonna put mine inside of my old, broken PS3 phat!

Eeehh...not until they officially fix all of the problems with it.

Bet with Adamblaziken:

I bet that on launch the Nintendo Switch will have no built in in-game voice chat. He bets that it will. The winner gets six months of avatar control over the other user.

Apparently, I didn't use enough exclamation points in the OP.

PS4 is powerful enough to emulate PSTV...so no. Just emulate it and have one less device, then advertise all the new compatible games.

It's the ability to stream the PS4 to the PSTV that would be the selling point!  If your GF was watching Lifetime on your favorite TV, rather than watch with her, you could just go to the other room, fire up the PSTV, and you got your PS4 in a second room!  You don't even have to disconnect it!  And you even get some games via cross buy!  It would be like the Dish Network Hopper.  One big device on your main TV with the smaller cell phone sized device wherever you want it!

!!!!!

If Sony had to choose between droping the price of the PS4, and bundling a PSTV while keeping the price, they would choose the pricedrop. Not only more people would get interested in saving money than a streaming device, the PSTV is cheap enough to buy on its own.

You know it deserves the GOTY.

Almost.... except not. It would be a while screen on any other tv as long as you have WiFi.  Not a few feet from the console on a small screen.

The unstoppable sales juggernaut Vita TV strikes again.
