Well, like I said, they were based on trailers I saw, and I didn't really like what I saw, so I passed it. I may give it a shot, but after 5 and 6, I am a litle hesitant to get it, and I've played most of them except RE2 and 3. : / 0 has continued to be my fav, so if it feels like that, I'd be more interested.

It's defaintely different than all of those other RE's. It's defiantely closer to 0 than it is to 5 or 6 other than the camera angle. You and your partner require each others help for puzzles and more than just shooting. The game is definately more survival based. If you tell me what you like bout RE0 then I can tell you if that is something comparable or if it's not even related xD It's hard to compare Rev 2 to the other games. We got a new dodging mechanic that is awesome, your character "stumbles" while trying to dodge. It's really handy and it doesn't feel "actiony" at all. Imho the gameplay is awesome and there are a few parts that could have really been improved and some misplaced humor. For example Barry and Claire's overly corny lines get dropped in parts that are very serious. It's awkward when they say dumb stuff around a villian who is so sinnister and always serious. That's Barry for you though.... All in all the story is so good that the gameplay could result in you constantly wiping your ass and it would still be a mindblowing experince. I mean.... no pun intended but it really is MINDBLOWING! LOL

Hmm, the things I really liked about 0 was the setting, visuals, and lighting. The colors felt really dark and faded, as well as lighting. It blended really well to make a good scary environment. It also did really well with sound, to the overall fear of the game. The leeches as enemies also spooked me as well, expecially one section when you head to a restroom in the mansion. The wild background that plays when they appear also added to the intensity, causing panic. The mansion itself was quite a scary setting as well. I'd probably say I enjoyed it because it felt the scariest and most intense of all the RE games I played, minus 4 with the 2nd.

Sorry my response took so long. I had to think on it.

You thought RE4 was scary ?

Actually, I meant to say that RE4 is more intense than 0. With the things Leon has to go through, 0 can't compare to 4. 0 though I think is the scariest RE.

The real question is: will it not suck?

Of course not. When has Resident Evil suck outside of that Racoon City monstruosity (and the upcoming Umbrella monstruosity)?

RE5 + 6 sucked donkey balls.

The last main RE game that was actually good came out a decade ago, so I don't really have high hopes for RE7...

I don't understand Capcom , they owned the most iconic survival horror series and after the fourth Installment they tried to transform it to a shooter.
I have completed Resident Evil 1-4 , Zero & Code Veronica but i won't touch again a Resident Evil if they don't return to their roots.

I'm playing RE6 atm. Its good fun, but it is clear that its more an action game than a survival horror. It actually feels alot like playing uncharted and TLOU. Its wave after wave of threats and the challenge is to overcome the madness.
Zombies with machines gun though... probably going a bit far. I also don't like that i can't finish off zombies conveniently laying on the groud waiting to give me the scare when i least expect. On old games you could finish them off before they rise up and it was part of the ammo management. I liked that.

Anyways... i am enjoying it and am very curious to see RE7. I want Jill, Claire and Chris to be on it. Give me Code veronica 2 + Jill romance. Cmon... they are almost 40... i can't believe that romance hasnt kicked off yet.

Whatever they do, they need to bring Barry back. He was awesome in Revelations 2!

The story is most likely gona revolve around Natalia so its probable that the entire cast of Revelations 2 will be in it, if not as the protagonists they will be important to the story.
