wut? the best thing about farcry is fighting the animals and hunting. so taking you to an era where the animals are even more bad ass than they are now, and hunting them is awesome and hard is destroying the series? if they include dinosaurs then i am losing my shit.

I'm pretty sure this game started as a new IP and then they decided to put the name FarCry on it, just to attract sales. Just consider it a spinoff or a weir experiment like Blood Dragon. What I want to know is how are they going to compensate the lack of firearms in a game like this.

Dude it's not about the setting.
They want to do the same shit with Far Cry as they are doing with Assassin's Creed. Don't forget that Far Cry 4 isn't even one year old.

ohh i am keeping that in mind. 2 years between games isnt bad though. ideally for an open world game in this gen i would prefer 3 years between games.
however i am worried with Ubisoft over milking the series. but the setting gives me hope that they are mixing things up, while still focusing on what made farcry3 and 4 so great.

Cautiously optimistic about this one, given Ubisoft's tendency to milk the IPs.
FC4, while still quite enjoyable, was too much of a FC3 rehash...well, at least that gyro won't be in Primal, that took out lot of foot exploration and uncertainty of FC3.
apparently this stream has been going on for around 17 hours.....and still nothing.... man is this a fuck up in marketing.

Somewhere mentioned this may be a downloadable game. Part of me is beginning to wonder if Michel Ancel's vapourware title Wild has been merged into this, it has a similar setting and was to be Ubisoft published.

that would be dissapointing. wild seems pretty unique and interesting. and you can play as anything in the game. so if it turned into a farcry title it would lose a lot of its appeal.
