Wow! The game sounds very interesting. Still haven't played Person 3 yet.

Sweet; another Persona game. And on the PS2!

I'm a big fan of the Shin Megami Tensei games and their spinoffs. They're consistently innovative and interesting, which is a great thing in a stagnant genre packed with game series where the gameplay hasn't changed since the SNES days. As good as Persona 3 was, I'm expecting big things from this game.

I do wish they'd bring back whichever character designer worked on the Nocturne, Digital Devil Saga, and Maken X games, though. I love his/her art style, while this one looks a bit too much "generic anime" for my tastes.

"'Casual games' are something the 'Game Industry' invented to explain away the Wii success instead of actually listening or looking at what Nintendo did. There is no 'casual strategy' from Nintendo. 'Accessible strategy', yes, but ‘casual gamers’ is just the 'Game Industry''s polite way of saying what they feel: 'retarded gamers'."

Sweet.

Interesting that they kept it on the PS2, especially with it being Japan-based. Maybe they thought PS3/360 would be too expensive, Wii too oddball, DS too under-powered, PSP too sucky in software sales, so might as well keep it on the same system? hehe.

Hmm... I just realized that I'll have to add this to my "games to get on launch day" list, though. (Though it really can't be considered much of a list, since it only includes Persona 3: FES right now.) Megaten games are impossible to find just a week after launch day...

@ DKII: Megaten games already cater to a small, niche audience. Even in Japan, Persona 3 barely broke 200k in sales, while FES settled around 160k. If Atlus released a Megaten game on anything but something with a huge install base like the PS2, they would be narrowing their audience even more. The only other platform that it might sell decently on is the DS, and that can't really handle 3D all that well.

But, hey: putting the next Megaten game on the PS2 means that I don't have to worry about buying a PS3 for a single game. :)

Probably, I kinda expect this trend to continue for a while for some games. It doesn't make sense making games for PS3... and you aren't going to want to put all your games in the Wii basket i don't think. Sure everyone did that PS2 era but they could always port to gamecube and Xbox if need be... you can't port over wii games. Well you can... but they'll be lower in production value thent he artificially high standards 360 and PS3 games have.

Mostly for games that don't make it out of Japan though.

Sure Persona games make it out of Japan, but it shares a lot of the same characteristics of those "Japan only" games.

we had to wait almost 2 years for persona 3.... hope atlus won't hesitate to bring this baby here

Wow ... for the PS2 ... its still getting some pretty big exclusives :o
