I'd also recommend the 3rd Star Ocean game if you can find it. It's a great game. SO2 is good I've heard, but thats only on PSP or on the original PS (doubt you'll find that cheap though)

Looks a bit unpolished, but pretty fun. Never played one before, how the combat system works?

They play somewhat similar to Tales of games if you've ever played those. To be honest it's been a while since I've played XD 

No attack its just outdated and adds nothing to the game.

I like it. I actually prefer it. It adds to variety in games. It'd be boring if every game played exactly the same 

Yes, I've played one of them on PS2 and another on PS3, I actually liked them but since I was much younger I didn't enjoyed them to their fullest. I'm thinking about giving SO5 a try when it comes to the west next year. 2016 is looks amazing for JRPGs.

Um. Ok I'm not trying to hate here. As I've never played a Star Ocean game...

But it looks so generic. The visuals look like an early Ps3 game. Themes I've seen over and over again. Gameplay looks meh.

Hopefully the story is the focus? If not then I'm not excited at all.

Turn based can be really fun depending on the game. The grandia series has one of, if not, my favorite turn based battle systems ever. 

Sadly they haven't made another grandia since part 3, which to me, was the best version of its battle systems. So addicting. Another good turn based rpg is the legend of dragoon on ps1. 

I prefer turn based myself. I like to strategize and plan out my attacks, read the enemies weakness and adapt accordingly. 

But to each their own as the saying goes :) 

Star ocean 2 is coming to PS vita and ps4 next year and will be an updated version of the psp version, star ocean second evolution. :)
