"There are many IPs that we kind of stopped iterating with new games," he continued. "One of the reasons is we always love to work on new IP.

“From my standpoint I try to balance the number of games in a franchise. In the future there might be a chance to come back to a game like Wipeout."

More seriously, even if it was just a collection of the top tracks/music/cars from previous games with super high IQ and a little better lighting it would be just amazing!

I love WipEout, but I'll believe it when I see it. I don't think Yoshida knows how to manage a mid-tier franchise like this anymore, he's shown a distinct lack of knowledge in the past.

But always say never to a new Motorstorm game.

Don't worry. There will be a 1080p 60fps port of the Vita one put on PS4 soon. And that really will be the definitive WipeOut :)

Ehh.  2048 was a solid entry, but a ways off being the best in the series.  A bit too much combat to be the definitive game.

However there is also the PS3 iterations ;)

Which were just a collection of HD maps from Pure/Pulse.

Not sure a definitive version is going to be selling the same old content for a 4th time.
