So Mario 3D world is not on 3D because you don´t have a free camera and the levels are lineal compared to M64....

So Galaxy is also a non 3D Mario. Bravo.

I still consider the Galaxy games as real 3D mario games.

Even if Galaxy games are completely different than Mario Sunshine and Mario 64!? Guess what Mario 3D World is also completely different than all those games but that doesn't make that game less 3D Mario game.

To me it does.

Its too linar & 2D mario level like, to feel like a real 3D mario game.

Its a 2.5 D mario game, not a 3D one.

In mario galaxy, there was round planets you could run completly around.  Even if you cant do much with the camra angle.

In Mario 3D world, usually its just a tiny little platform, you can move abit on. It feels more or less like a 2D mario game.

also the time limit..... in galaxy you can solve problems and take your time figouring out things getting stuff.

in Mario 3D world, its just like a old school 2D platformer, when you race to the end. The rush kills all the exploration.

I think Mario 3D world, is a step back in time, and not a great one, Id have prefered a mario 64 part 2, or a galaxy game.

Nothing anyone else here says can convice me otherwise, Mario 3D world isnt a "real" 3d game.

Mario Galaxy games are very linear in comparison with Sunshine and Mario 64. Is that makes Mario Galaxy games less 3D Mario games!?

What Im saying is Im tried of 2D platformer like mario games. Donkey Kong Country does it better than mario now (2D platformer).

Nintendo need a "real" 3D mario game for their next console, or sales will probably suffer.

The last 3 main Mario games have all been 2D platformer like right?

New Super Mario Bros U

Super Mario 3D world

Super Mario Maker*

* because this is a builder type game, people will be playing it for ages, that means future mario games (next 2 main line games atleast) need less 2D platformer elements.

Its time for a real 3D one, like mario 64, or people will grow tired of mario.

Too many 2D platformer like mario games, released to close to one another = burn out.

I plan on getting this so called console and having that be my last gaming console. ending it,were it began, nintendo.

Too bad the Mario 3d world is the lowest selling mainline mario game with only 3.5 million.  Even Mario sunshine sold over 6 million.  And yes sales matter because companys do look at sales.. thats why New super mario bros gets sequels all the time.

Over 4m according to Nintendo's numbers, under your logic NSMB is worse off as the previous games sold over 20m compared to 5m of the last NSMB game. 3DW is 2M behind Sunshine on a userbase that is over 50% lower, 3DW could most likely match Sunshine's sales at that on a lower userbase.

3DW is a real 3D Mario it just uses a different approach and formula no mode of thinking is going to change that, I find it ironic that people are always going on about Nintendo needing to change things up and when it happens they start saying it should be like a previous game.

This whole saga would be as silly as someone saying cel shading is not real 3d.

Lets just leave it at Alot of people dont consider Mario 3DW to be a real 3D game.
Some here think it is, but just as many probably dont consider it to be one.

"I find it ironic that people are always going on about Nintendo needing to change things up and when it happens they start saying it should be like a previous game."

Mario 3D world, tries ALOT to be a modern version of the very old Super Mario World.

I find it ironic, that you used that logic in this case.
Its a new game, thats almost like a really old 2D mario game.

Whatever, to me the concept of Mario 64 was more fresh and new, than trying to make a 3D, 2D platformer.
It probably just boils down to me wishing Nintendo did a new mario 64.

2D mario platformer burn out, been to many of them lately.
Also I honestly dont feel like they have been up to pair, with older Mario games that where real 3D mario games.

By a lot you mean a select group on forums moaning that it's not like another installment they prefer, 3DW doesn't try at all to be like old 2D Mario it takes elements from the whole franchise to create a new approach that's what a new approach does. I suggest for a start look up what 2D and 3D is not just you but other moaners as well, it gives you an idea of how silly the notion of real 3D Mario you lot have built up is as it means that 70% of all other games aren't 3D under the same logic.

Wii U have real 3D Mario and real DK.
New 3D Mario is certan for NX too, Metroid too, all other games that you mentioned are not certain.

Also Pikmin 4 is probably Wii U game too.

Sorry but you are spamming with pretty lame threads.

Actually, Mario 3D World sold 4.30 millions units.

It could eventually beat Sunshine if there is a bundle or a Nintendo Select on Wii U.
