Forums - Gaming - The Witcher 3 or Lords of the Fallen?

Hey guys, I need some advice.
A couple of weeks ago I bought The Witcher 3 and I already played 4-5 hours of the game.
Didn't enjoy it so far. Bad fighting system, empty world, frustrating missions...
My question now is if the game gets better later?
When I bought it I thought that The Witcher 3 is similar to the Gothic series but The Witcher 3 is completely different...
Now I want to sell The Witcher 3 and buy Lords of the Fallen because I am a huge From Software fan.

What do you think?

My roommate bought Lords of the Fallen because it was supposed to be like Dark Souls. It lasted him about a day. Now it's just another game on his PS4 HDD. It doesn't seem like an easy recommend.

I get The Witcher 3 not really clicking though because it didn't for me either. Not for the same reasons. I was just bored playing, so I stopped and sold the game.

Don't play either? Better for your wallet

If you haven't left White Orchard yet then stick with Witcher 3 until you can explore Velen and Novigrad. That's where the real game starts anyway, but if you really dislike the fundamentals of the game then don't bother going any further than that.

Well, I haven't played the Witcher 3, only the first 2 and I found the combat absolutely terrible. Playing that game felt like a chore. Don't know if things have changed with The Witcher 3

As for Lords of the Fallen, I can easily say that it's worth its current reduced price. The game is great and very underrated. It's a lot like a Souls game, only a bit better in terms of combat. Souls games feel like budget games to me. I also feel like Lords of the Fallen is much more beautiful than Souls games, though much worse than the Witcher 3, of course.

I say do it. Trade in the Witcher 3 and get Lords of the Fallen. If you're anything like me (at least we both don't like the combat of the Witcher 3), you won't regret it.

But keep in mind that the game is not very easy. If you don't like difficult games, you should probably not bother (though, having said that, I don't like hard games but I liked Lords of the Fallen).

yeah. the witcher has bad core mechanics, and the humor is toned down, but it still feels like a witcher game, but more epic, i dont know why any console gamer cares for the witcher, its a PC game with core PC gamer as core audience. the developer is a d&d groupe at its hearth, they cant realy relate to console casuals, even if toned down for mainstream.

disclaimer, the writer has played 24h pathfinder in the last 48h

Honestly, the game's getting worse and worse. The first ten hours are the best, so if you didn't like it, you can resell it.

But don't expect Lords of the Fallen to be anywhere near Dark Souls. You'll be disappointed.
