Most Underrated Console?

Original Xbox 41 11.11%

Gamecube 82 22.22%

Saturn 20 5.42%

PS Vita 78 21.14%

Wii U 97 26.29%

Sega Mastersystem 9 2.44%

Other 42 11.38%

Total:369

Are we talking about the console per se? Or the content too?

Out of those options, Vita. Of all time, I'd need a very clear picture of what "underrated" means in this case

I really liked the Sega GameGear

Especially awesome with the magnifier aka mini tv mount lol.

i think the WiiU holds that top spot of being underrated because of several things that other gamers raised questions:
1. the price to get an HD Nintendo console, several gamers still hold a place for Nintendo games but the $300 is a bit steep.
2. if gamepad became an optional controller, the price would surely drop, so this 2nd item is relevant to the first one.
3. disk space, 32gb is quite really small especially the price of PS/XBOX consoles with much larger capacity, so is WiiU a joke really, we know it is NAND/Flash thing but why does PS/XBOX still use the normal HD and got the bigger capacity and works fine, why rather go for that fancy flash mem where it is very limited. again a decision Nintendo can only answer.

it really boils down to pricing, if there is a looming price drop, it should happen this year, they've appointed a president and mention they needed to because of 53% sales are mostly coming from holidays, but what could Nintendo offer this holiday as their main title, better to push for a price drop with a SMM + DLC treat for the gamers who wanted to own a Wii U.

If not the most underrated console in history, the Wii is certainly the most overhated. Every console has bad games, but Wii will always be remembered for its bad games, which abused the motion controls and filled the shelves (shovelware is a term very associated with Wii). The thing is though, that the Wii has so many gems on it. The Super Mario Galaxy games deserve to be mentioned among the greatest games of all time, and Zelda, Metroid, Smash, Mario Kart, NSMB, Xenoblade, Wii Sports, Wii Fit, Mario Strikers, WarioWare among many, many others all had great iterations on this console.

the motion controls should really have done better, if Sony, Nintendo and Microsoft created games that are really fun and in detail to play with. Shooters with motion controls can really be huge but nobody really invested deeply with it. Action games are also good with motion controls if done right, really sad that they wanted gamers to stand and really play a game but went back to sit on the couch for more immersive gaming. but motion controls faded so fast and we are just back into mostly better graphics and CGIs.

Gamecube The Ouya

While Wii U and Vita can be considered underrated they are both still within their lifecycle.

So my pick goes to the Gamecube: great games, controls, graphics, multiplayer fun. Had it all.

WiiU probably.

I wouldnt say that the Wii U is "Underrated" but "Low Rated".

From a Hardware standpoint is very lacking.

According to CNET:

The Good An included tablet-style GamePad can play games when the TV is in use; Nintendo has a core library of awesome exclusive titles; works with older Wii games and accessories; very kid-friendly. Access to a vault of your childhood classics. Off-TV play is great.

The Bad
Can't play DVDs or Blu-rays; lacks a lot of third-party games available on Xbox or PlayStation; GamePad battery life too short; Wii U and 3DS handheld don't share games. On-board storage is severely lacking; Wii U interface is still way behind other consoles. Limited GamePad wireless range limits it to use barely one room away.

The Bottom Line The Wii U has shaken off some of its initial growing pains to become a superior kid and family console, with a limited but excellent lineup of exclusive games you won't find anywhere else.
