Forums - Nintendo - Hammerhead Bridge: Gone shortly after arrival, and now we know why. =/

As you may have noticed, Hammerhead Bridge has barely been in rotation since Splatfest. I thought this strange since they shoved Flounder Heights down our throats for weeks, and also highly unfortunate since I like Hammerhead a lot. We just went a full day without it, and looking at the schedule, we're gonna go another day without it, so I knew something was up, most likely a glitch or exploit. Typed "Hammerhead Bridge Glitch" into Google and boom, found this video:

Now that's a stupid way to win, and very silly on Nintendo's part for putting collision detection in areas that are out of bounds. I definitely don't want to play Rainmaker there so it's good that they pulled Hammerhead, but also bad since they pulled it from the other modes aswell. Don't get why they couldn't leave it for Turf War, Splatzones, and Tower Control as this exploit doesn't affect them, but ahwells. They better fix this faster than they did Triggerfish, though I fear they might wait until the 3.0 update which could be like two weeks from now. Ugh, Nintendo you dun goofed!

I was wondering about this too, since I saw Flounder Heights sooo much after it was released..

Nintendo is too detailed, even making the girders have collision :/

All they had to do was make a collision box around the whole bottom. I don't get why that takes so long.

you should email Nintendo about it.  i also don't know why it is taking too long, maybe other priorities.

That could be the reason. But making a simple box. Then cutting it out. So it conforms to the floor shapes, is a 5 minute job. By one person, since it's invisible, it doesn't need to be good. The death trigger doesn't even need to be tweeked. It's very odd. My only other guess: Is Nintendo having people check the entire map for any other holes. And then they probably have a rule of retesting the stages anyway, before releasing them again.

This really sucked, but actually now that I see the reason why, I've just come up with the the thought this actually could separated, tweaked, and made to its own stage. Probably single player. Will never happen but it would be cool.

No! Don't remove it! Keep it for other modes besides rainmaker. As someone who loves seeing speed runs, there's just something about exploits I really like.

Actually, you don't automatically win as stated in the video. All you gotta do is get down there and suicide with the rainmaker. That'll reset it to the center of the map.

Apparently not since that what he did and it stayed there. I think suiciding only resets the RM if you're still in your team's half of the map. Unless you mean doing that after the enemy team put it there, which yeah can work, but will still waste a lot of time.

That's um...

You gotta be kidding me...
