Forums - Gaming - Praise Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain. The bits you love?

I love the bits that make up Quiet's textures.

Around the Network

First, the Mother Base soldier micromanaging adapted from Peace Walker. That is one thing I love about the game, managing where my soldiers should be after recruiting them from the field.

Also, the weapon and item developing. This has greatly evolved from the previous game, being greatly complimented with a weapon customizing system. You could easily build the weapon that adapts for your needs.

And then, there's the gameplay itself. It's probably the best out of all the MGS. The stealth in a open-world game works extremely well for me and the choices given to tackle enemies just works pretty damn well. Just because this is a game for stealth, doesn't mean you should stick to it.

As a last note, I like the return of the good ol' Sneaking Suit transfered from GZ savedata and the Parasite Suit. Oh so, so good.

So Metal Gear Solid 5 has to have people giving it praise to prove it's a great game? The reason it's being commented on about its problems isn't because it's a bad game, it's because it's a massively overrated game that doesn't deserve the scores that it's been given.  It has a lot of glaring flaws that you can't ignore but just about every journalist did.

That being said, the game controls well, it's a fun to play game. Side ops, as repetitive as they tend to get, isn't your typical fetch quest. Each base or area has enemy officers stationed on guard and it feels like you're actually fulfilling a meaningful objective.
