As someone who has tried VR i gotta say it WILL have a place in gaming, it wont replace traditional gaming but it will have a place for sure, i tried a "shitty" roller coaster demo on an early version of the oculus rift and even though the graphics werent great and it wasnt a final version of the Oculus it still fooled me into believing i was in the roller coaster and i honestly felt that i needed to grab on to something or i would fall off from it, i was loosing my orientation (even knowing that it wasnt real) because thats how much you get "in there", and i really needed to grab something or i would end up falling on my back (since i was standing while i tried the demo).
VR will at least have a place for horror games and racing games that are willing to take it to the "next level".
And funny enough everyone who ive seen has tried VR has come off with the same mentality that it will have a place in gaming for sure, even people who hated the idea and thought it wouldnt work came out of the experience pleasently surprised and just like me they believe it will have its market, but of course it wont replace traditional gaming.
