OT: Yeah I have to agree with Phil on this one. Also I feel that this isn't the true VR people have been envisioning, but rather have accepted because they want to be a part of something new. A lot of people genuinely like this, and I'm sure its for them, but in general I feel a forced excitement on that end. Same with AR, but to a lesser degree. AR at least seems closer to the AR people have envisioned, and defintitely seems to widen gameplay experiences rather than limit them like I feel current VR will. The HoloLens is just as seemingly annoying to wear, no somehow more than VR machines.

It's funny how people are trying to say he's wrong when it's his own opinion.

Plus what he said is true anyway. VR probably won't be the future of gaming because not every type of game will work well with VR, only certain types. It's the same thing as saying that motion controls were the future of gaming, and for a while they were and they did offer some great experiences, but they only really worked well for certain types of games and look at how they are barely used now.

The only way VR would ever even be the future of gaming anyway was if everyone had one, therefore it would have to be bundled with something or come with a system. Sort of how Microsoft wanted Kinect to be huge and supported more so they bundled it with every Xbox One at first so that way everyone had one if they bought an Xbox One.

VR is great to see, but it won't be the future of gaming. It will be something that's hyped up about at first and will be cool to see in use but I think after a while it will end up just like motion controls. Now of course I could be completely wrong and maybe it will take off hugely, but like it has been said most factors and signs currently are pointing to it not happening.

Maybe not the future... But VR or AR will play a huge role in it for sure.
I'm really excited about AR (at least the way MS is envisioning it with HoloLens). I'm less attracted by VR for now but I have to admit that being able to be fully immersed in a SP campaign for games like Halo would be cool to, but again just as an option.

Many people play games to go explore other worlds. There's no better way to do that than VR. Why wouldn't it catch on or why would it be "sad" if it did?

VR isn't the future but AR, that's hypocrite , mean time in alternate dimension where Microsoft build VR while SONY developing AR: Phil Spencer " AR will not be the future " .

Why Phil is not working and only talk, i haven't see him making progress.

VR (and AR) can and will be great for some games and genres like racing games, flight sims or shooters to name the obvious ones, but to think that VR is the way to go for every genre is shortsighted.
