Unsure what the implications will mean for the company. This should be a good thing for streamlining their products, but somehow I have an uneasy feeling.

Oh for third party its essential. The only remaining questing is what device they will ultimately release. This API ensures that they will have an onslaught of compatible software and it means that everyone will be able to get the most out of it.
