There's still games coming out for it, and it's making a decent profit. I give it two more years. After that, we'll see PS3 BC for the PS4.

Without using PSnow I really don't see this ever being a possibility. I could be wrong but hardware wise I don't think the ps4 has the power to locally emulate all of the innards of the PS3.
Why not check me out on youtube and help me on the way to 2k subs over at www.youtube.com/stormcloudlive
Not any time soon!

[3DS] Winter Playtimes [Wii U]
Maybe they still think they can catch up to Wii and are attempting to surpass it's sales.

And they still can reach 100 million ps3 sold. I remember ps1 reached this market after ps2 was already some years out.

I wish Sony worked in a system where I put a ps3 game disc on ps4 and start streaming from psnow without me having to pay a subscription or buying again a game I already own. It would be just like having local BC.

I think they will continue to produce them for the next two years at least. It seems to be getting support with new releases, especially in Japan. I think Sony would be wise to officially drop it to $150 though. Maybe even $100 if they feel bold enough. At that price, it would be an excellent blu-ray/media server as well as a capable gaming machine.
They haven't dropped the price in a long ass time, so I take it their planning on keeping it around for at least two more years.
