So most games are niche and many games are bad, but niche =/= bad automatically.

Fair enough. I think the problem with people calling Japanese titles 'niche' (not you clearly) is there can only be one reason for pointing that out: They're niche so therefore they won't sell consoles. That's the bottom line and the main reason it's brought up. It's also the reason Indie titles are dealt with in the same way.

You're right though, I hate Japanese games now that they aren't coming to Xbox. In fact, I'll buy the PS Japanese games used, just to spite them.

edit: Yes, most Jap. games are niche.

I don't think the negativity on Japanese games can be blamed solely on Xbox fans. Sure, the fanboys will always try to down play but the overall mood on Japanese games started to decline when the big name Japanese Gaming Companies tried to westernize their games last generation.

They lost their faith on the Japanese games and franchises that were beloved in the west and either they didn't make them anymore, released a bad version of the game on mobile or it was never localized.

This created a vacuum which the smaller Japanese game companies filled in and most of their titles and overall approach/style isn't exactly palatable to the western audience.

There is a reason why we still love the Japanese games of yester years.

That is at least my 2 cents into the matter. ^^

Funny how their opinion changes when their system is lagging behind in sales now and mostly all Japanese games are becoming PS exclusive again, save for a small number of titles that were announced before this gen started. 

Sorry for my rant but this is just getting ridiculous. A game is a game wether it's made in Europe, Japan, America or wherever. Just because your console of preference isn't getting great Japanese support doesn't make their games any less of a game made in Europe or America.
