Forums - Nintendo - Animal Crossing Amiibo festival, will it be a hit?

I know this game isnt of any interest to anybody on this forum, myself included, but my 6 year old daughter would lap this kind of thing up. Given its target audience, a decent marketing effort and the holiday season, do you think this game could do well. The spin off Happy home designer has done great in Japan, and Animal Crossing is now an A tier Nintendo franchise which is extremely popular. I personally think that if Nintendo push the game and the Amiibo, we could be looking at a surprise hit.

I wouldn't be suprised if it makes Wii U sales rise more than Mario Maker in Japan. But isn't this game free to download and the retail version is just a bundle of Amiibo cards compatible with the game?

Even if Amiibo festival flops, it will still out sell Sonic Boom by a couple hundred thousand. The brand alone will see to that.

Erm, no. The brand will carry it. Especially in Japan.

I do hope they add more things. I think i heard that there will be minigames in the game?

Well from the huge success of the Spin off Animal Crossing Happy Home Designer <---- 1MIL seller in JAPAN ALONE! Who knows what this one will do.

But for it to be a hit, IMO it should get over 300 000 downloads <----- I dont actually know how we will consider this as a HIT or a FAILURE. By Amiibo sales? The retail version?

Dude, it's Animal Crossing.

Even if it isn't a main series game, I'm pretty sure it's already guaranteed to do better than Sonic Boom.

"Just for comparison Uncharted 4 was 20x bigger than Splatoon 2. This shows the huge difference between Sony's first-party games and Nintendo's first-party games."

I think it will do as well as Mario Part 10 or around there

I think the demographic is going to differ a lot from Skylanders. Amiibo Crossing is going to have a ton of adults who own every Amiibo Nintendo releases because ... well, I don't know why but it still happens. Should be very interesting.
