Perhaps the reliability problem is much more of an issue in europe? From my understanding the US is the only region that has the 3 year warrenty, right?

Like I've believed all along, this week showed no significant figures, and I don't think next week will be much better.
I predicted a 55k maximum over the next two weeks or so, and then a drop back to the 40's three to four weeks out, but I guess we won't know for sure until we see those weekly charts!
EU/Other has been the most even region thus far, but the 360 is still not looking good here, only compared to the atrocious Japan numbers.
They will be forced to do what they've mostly done so far; bet everything on one single market, which obviously will be very, very hard.

Let's all wait until next week before we say that this price drop had little to no effect. I am going to hold judgment until Next Mon/Tues, but it looks grim.

As long as it sells ~15k this week in JP, it'll be fine, and RSV: 2 comes out next week, which should keep PS3 sales the same.

 It certainly could, but it only needs about 15k, which is 25-30% less than last week, I'm not sure it will fall that quickly. That said, Japan is nearly a lost cause for PS3 until anything FF or similar hits, I also have great faith in White Knight Chronicles, which looks fab! Perhaps MGS 4 will loosen their ties a bit as well, we'll see shortly.

Reports from the first weekend, show 360 sales up 40%. So expect them to get close to 100k for the full week.

yes ur right, only in the states u get a 3 year warranty

since launch ive had 5 exchanges 1 of which was the wired controller during the 1st year.

if it goes now i wont bother buying another new, unless i find a good cheap priced used console.

why do u get 3 year warranty in the states and not in the uk, i mean the consoles that are sold are the same ones arnt they?

Isn't that UK only?  360 does okay there (English speaking seems to be the key) but that only means another 40% of what, around 20,000 units?  So say another 8000 ro so.  That's not going to change anything.  If the 40% translated across all of Others then sure, but in places like Spain or France I doubt the same response as UK.

Personally I think MS waited too long with the price cut and its now landing too close to GT5:P in Europe.  It'll help get a spike in UK, and help get them a few more UK GTA IV sales but I'm not convinced yet its going to change general trend in Others as a whole.

@shams: Well they are saying about 35-40% growth only from Friday. I don't know where do you get 100k. It's really doubtful. X360 normally was selling at 40-45k so now with another 40% it should be at best 60k.
