Wii U - Super Smash Bros.
3DS - Pokemon
"Just for comparison Uncharted 4 was 20x bigger than Splatoon 2. This shows the huge difference between Sony's first-party games and Nintendo's first-party games."

Nintendo 3DS: no game specifically since I wanted to play many games that were going to be, or was already, out..
(Fire Emblem Awakening, OoT 3D, Mario Kart 7, Pokemon, Rune Factory 4, etc..)
Wii U: again, not one specifically but I wanted to play Smash 4, MK8, TWW HD, and 3d World

[3DS] Winter Playtimes [Wii U]
3DS: Pokemon X
Wii U: Mario Kart 8 & Super Smash Bros
I would pretty much buy any console that has Halo and Gears. So naturally I needed to have a X1.
Shenmue 3 alone could also justify a console purchase. But that's years away...

PS4 - Well I've purchased every single PlayStation to date. Got it at launch. It was a no brainer. I know the games are coming.
Xbox One - Again.....I've purchased every single Xbox to date. I didn't get one at launch because I didn't have the money to get both the PS4 and XB1. I had to make a choice at the time. However, I love my Xbox One now. I know the games are/were coming.
Wii U - Always got Nintendo consoles. I know the games are coming. So there's no particular games that made me by it. I got this at launch.
PS Vita - Love Sony handhelds and I liked what was coming gamewise.
3DS- Nintendo handhelds.....nuff said!

Bought my 3DS when Pokémon X/Y was first announced. Best decision ever!

There's a problem with that. There's no such thing as a 'shitty' Pokemon game... |
Pokepark was kinda shitty...
I liked it for what it was, but let's be real.

vita- jrpgs

xbox one- exclusives (getting this year)
3ds- pokemon(already have)
Wii U: I already wanted to play Mario Kart 8 and Pikmin 3, among others, but the announcement of a new Star Fox and the Zelda trailer at E3 2014 were the deciding factor for me to get one. It's been a decent console so far, with some good surprises like The Wonderful 101 and Splatoon, but it could have been much better.
3DS: Pokemon, Fire Emblem: Awakening, the Zelda games, Bravely Default, and a lot more. I bought mine two months ago and it's already my main gaming platform, a great purchase.
Vita: Ys: Memories of Celceta, Tales of Hearts R and Oreshika: Tainted Bloodlines, before knowing that Oreshika was going to be a digital only game. Having charged its battery only 4 times in the last nine months, it's the only purchase I might regret.
PS4: It will probably be my next purchase, but it needs good JRPGs for me to jump the gun. Both Dragon Quest XI and Persona 5 are looking good, but none of the games available now has caught my interest.
Xbox One: Maybe Scalebound or Ori and the Blind Forest, but it'll also take a new Lost Odyssey and a new Blue Dragon for me to start thinking about buying one.
