I agree that it's more complicated. But I don't think that it makes it so complicated that it would be unmanagable or overwhelming. The demands of a platformer were overcome masterfully in the original Super Mario Maker. Like I said, unlike 3D Mario games, the Isometric 3D Land/World games lend themselves to the same kinds of lego-style level building as Minecraft has. It wouldn't be much more different in implementation from Minecraft, and it wouldn't be much more complex in execution than Super Mario Maker.
