Which was the better Platformer?

Super Mario 64 327 76.76%

Crash Bandicoot 99 23.24%

Total:426

The original Crash Bandicoot isn't so bad... but the fact that you can only save in bonus stages is bullshit. Why make it so complicated?

Super Mario 64 wins this one.

But I think Crash Bandicoot 2 and 3 are on the same level as Super Mario 64! Those two are awesome!

People stil play SM64 seriously

I saw a clip a while back that was quite recent with a guy doing amazing things in the game
He was making a bridge in the sky out of enemies in the first level

Crash isnt the same kind of platformer

While it had been intended as a joke!

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Crash_Bandicoot_%28video_game%29#Reception

96.41% compared to 80.40% @ gamerankings so critically speaking Mario done a whole lot better than crash as a game, I mean when I think of the Jump into 3d platformers I would still hold Mario 64 was one of the best even today, never mind 19 years ago when it launched.

Crash 2 was a massive improvement on the first tho, still sits happily on my Vita and gets played from time to time.

To be frank, I don't really care what Crash or SM64 had on either Gamerankings or Metacritic. I don't even care if you have Crash 2 on your Vita. I just wanted to point out that if there's more of a 20% that think Crash is a great platformer, it's their opinion. It's good to differ in opinions, you know

Only really wish the Mario64x4 from the DS was half as good as the original is, awww well, can always rely on Sony to have all the best platformers on my desk at work haha

Good times.

Mario 64 on a PSP?!?!?!

Daaaa fuuuuck?!

It´s called emulator, I play Snes and GBA games on my PSP all the time, I have used it way more for that purpose than for its real games. But Mario 64 should run like shit on a PsP, at least mine can´t even run ps games.

Playing glitch free so far, up to 40stars in now.... sadly playing sound free too, that music emulation just puts a nasty stutter to the gameplay (doesn't hurt too not having sound while playing it at work tho :D )

Errrr... if you have popsloader setup properly you can natively run psone games on any model of psp, just that the pspgo has a little more horsepower and double the ram of the original psp, allows it run the N64 emulator not too badly, heh, it almost runs Lylat wars better than it does Star Fox on the SNES at times, pardon the weak quality of my huawei G300's camera :) (jesus on watching it it looks super jerky on that vid.... fairly bad representation tbh, the pspgo with daedalus runs that, mario64 , FzeroX all very close to their original framerates (with no sound tho)

If there is anything I could help you with the popsloader for psone emulation maybe gimme a pm or check gbatemp out, great site.

Oh thanks, but to be honest I rather play psone games on PC with some enchancements, I tried one time to emulate ps games on my psp and it worked but the framerate was terrible and the sound was a complete mess anyways. But is kind of impressive for the PSP GO to emulate those N64 games close to the original framerate, specially F-Zero X at 60fps, the lack of sound is a bummer though.

Aye, no sexy Mute City music while getting boost power :( sad times.

If you ever feel like giving it a poke around can give me a PM on here tho or like I said GBA temp is fantastic for psp bits and pieces.

Crash easily. Mario 64 is not even in the same league. Crash was amazing, Mario 64 made a good franchise worse. Mario 64 was average at best and even the graphics look horrible.

Mario 64 beats the original crash, is on the same level as crash 2 and gets beat by crash 3. And this may not be the question but CTR annihilates mario kart 64
