Having watched the gameplay videos, I like what I see quite a lot. Looks quite good.
However, there's one thing I have to get off my chest: Nintendo, *why* isn't this on Wii U? I know this is Square's game so the initial platforms it launches on is up to them, but Nintendo really, really needs to get aggressive with courting 3rd parties. Heck, offer to fund and do the port yourself. Offer to fund the work to localize said port yourself. This and Dragon Quest XI could run on Wii U, anyone can see that looking at the graphics with a discerning eye. This and DQXI would be perfect to bring over to follow up on the launch of Xenoblade Chronicles X and Genei Ibun Roku #FE, to continue to build up the number of RPGs available. And would help bolster 2016 offerings and give a good show next E3 and during Directs. And before people point out NX, this is as much about changing Nintendo's image as it is bolstering Wii U sales. You want to end a gen with a bang, not a whimper. Having a diversified lineup plus stronger ties with some key 3rd parties (Square Enix, for example) would help them move forward smoothly.
I know this is only tangentially to the topic at hand, but it's just something I've been thinking for a while. Nintendo just lets Sony walk away with games being exclusively on PS3 and now PS4 in Japan when they should be aggressively fighting to strengthen relations, especially while they still have an install base advantage in Japan. That's how Sony has done it from the start; heck that's how Playstation *got* its start. Gotta be aggressive. Fortune favors the bold, not the complacent.
