What about the star wars bundles? If they do drop the price it's gonna be a pain for all those retailers and customers to refund the difference on pre orders. They might just not cut at all in the West

arent they not taking the money yet? Amazon doesnt until the product launches and even refunds money if the price was too high @ a launch

That's Amazon, yes. But plenty of other retailers charge when the order is placed

PS4 does not need a price cut this holiday season in the west. I think they will save it until March with Uncharted.

Please Watch/Share this video so it gets shown in Hollywood.

So a price cut at PGW confirmed!?

If they only drop for base sku, all bundles technically remain at $399. Basically you're back to paying $59 for the bundled game. Also, who the hell pays the full upfront price for a console pre-order? And also most stores / websites sites have a price drop guarantee for pre-orders. It's no skin off the retailer's nose as Sony will be wearing the cost of the price cut anyway.

Wow a $/Euro50 price cut will play very nicvely for the holidays if it happens.

They will announce more cuts for France.

Changed the title to make it clear that it's Japan only so far.

Not a single retailer in the UK does that. If they do elsewhere... then WTF do people preorder for? That's just silly!

Doesn't Game do that? At least the online shop. I remember few years they did (never bothered with them since)

SONY should not cut price in the west. No point

I mostly agree, but they could make a push for market share to ensure dominance in 2016.

What is the longest a system has held its launch price for?

I hope they localize this

Ehh, you never know. It takes a lot of extra work doing the translation, and even then sometimes it doesn't sync up properly.
