Mismanagement.. When Vanillaware can produce beautiful HD highly animated sprites there is no reason SNK couldn't.. Its not like Vanillaware games are selling millions..

R.I.P Street Fighter V, Always been a big fan of KoF even if these days I'm not much into beat 'em ups.

True, also thinking of P4 Arena Ultimax, great sprites. Also, by abandoning the 2D sprites, you lose one of the main things that diferenciates you from Street Fighter V, its main competitor. KOF will loose on the graphics departmen if compared with SFV.

Yes there is. Vanilliware is financed to developed their games. SNK is not, they self fund their games, and in Japan self market and self publish. More task and money's holes than vanilliware has to worry about
The loss of sprites is tragic, though, I think the fact that fighting fans didn't take to it as they should have, is quite a bit more tragic. Between SF and KoF the winner was quite clear, KoF stomped all over SF's engine. Oh well, I still love the franchise, hopefully it'll be a true successor.

Well, the japan support is real on ps4. yakuza 6, king of fighters, gravity rush 2, kingdom hearts 2.8 are good addition to the ps4 library.
