- Rob Marshall (Chicago) is set to direct

- a script by David Magee (Life of Pi)

- Marc Shaiman and Scott Wittman (Hairspray and Smash) are set to compose original songs and a new score

- Disney is collaborating with Richard Sherman, who co-composed iconic songs like “Chim Chim Cher-ee” and “Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious” alongside his late brother, Robert. Marshall

- story will take place 20 years after the first film story, in Depression-era London, will draw inspiration from the existing works P.L. Travers‘ Poppins book series and explore Mary’s further adventures with the Banks’ family

- the film is not being considered as a sequel
