O.o That's super cheap and lame...
Bet with Teeqoz for 2 weeks of avatar and sig control that Super Mario Odyssey would ship more than 7m on its first 2 months. The game shipped 9.07m, so I won

People don't call Duke Nukem 3D a rip-off of Doom just because they're shooters that have a lot of enemies swarming you. And third off, how would Nintendo ever have watched an obscure cancelled indie Xbox game? |
That's exactly the attitude that everyone should have in this thread ...
The same should apply between that user generated level and Splatoon
My point wasn't to show off that Splatoon was a clone of Color Wars, only to show that it's not original ...
Since the OP pulled a fast one to deny that I felt compelled to show otherwise how naive it is to point fingers about originality ...

I am on topic as far as this thread goes and yes game modes are a part of game mechanics so you don't know what your talking about ...
You still haven't made a case as to how or what original mechanics Splatoon has brought ...
Oh come on guys, if there's a game that features user creations you're going to have blatant copies of other games in that game. Project Spark and LBP probably also have Splatoon creations.

The fact that it's called Squid Wars is obvious that it's a rip-off of Splatoon. Heck, it doesn't even have squids!

And the opposition can't do the same for Color Wars and Splatoon ...
Like I said before, I don't believe that Splatoon was copying Color Wars but people should layoff the blatant favoritism of the idea of that Splatoon mostly features original mechanics ...
Some people need to get over the fact that some "user generated level" was inspired by Splatoon ...
This argument is stupid, and the title is false
1) the game is user generated, no different than mods/hacks. If I make a Rayman themed course in mario maker, is it Nintendo's fault, or is it me being a Rayman fan?
2) Inspired stuff happens all the time. Why get angry about it? Guess what game Medal of Honor inspired? Guess how many indie games were inspired by metroid? If Splatoon is so great, then who cares if other people make inspired games off of it? There is nothing "shameful" in making an inspired game.
3) Disney Infinity has every right to show off every capability of their game as long as it doesn't break any rules. No IP laws are broken, so let them advertise what they want
so people realy wnt to buy the game, maybe the wiiu can make comeback with 2 strong titles that have broad appeal.

That because it does. You're just saying because it has turf wars, it means it has unoriginal mechanics. What game besides Splatoon allows you to become a squid and swim in ink?
Probably just a shout-out to Splatoon. Besides, the level itself is a shout-out to Arowana Mall
