Sorry Conservatives, I meant to say Republicans and liberals(Democrats); true conservatives certainly find our current state of affairs very troubling.

I was going to enter this discussion and say something contributive, but you've summed up my thoughts more efficiently than I ever could.

@ Superchunk, lets discuss this in a different thread. I am not opposed to talking to you about this, and would like to pick your brain rather bluntly if you wouldn't mind. I would understand if you don't want to be put on defense on these topics and I won't try to if do we talk. I would like to learn more about it so I can understand for future discussions. But again, lets not take this thread off topic again.

 In any form of media period.  His show is more profitable than any other single media outlet.   As of 2006, Arbitron ratings indicated that the Rush Limbaugh Show had a minimum weekly audience of 13.5 million listeners.  There is nothing close to this in any form of media.

I was about to rebut your previous statement, but you've redeemed yourself here. I consider myself a conservative and really dislike being lumped into a group with the likes of George Bush, who is definitely not a true conservative. His spending is out of control, and I happen to like my civil liberties.

Back on topic, I seldom find the time to listen to Rush, and used to watch Hannity and Colmes before I got turned off to all tv news outlets. It's not just Fox News that slants stories their way, MSNBC, CNN, CBS... they're all the same.

Have you looked at TV ratings? That's considered moderately high on network TV.

 13.5 million was a minimum and that was 2 years ago.  His audience has grown since then.  I guess in one aspect I should have clarified that there was nothing else comparable in his type of media.  Should not have lumped TV shows or sporting events in there. Sorry for that.

I find Rush to be a little heavy on the "Blame liberals for everything" myself, though i still agree that he raises good points, doesn't go soft on his views and debates well. I actually prefer Quinn and Rose and Glenn Beck myself, though I rarely have a chance to listen to them. I don't actively seek out programs like that, but I'll leave it on when I hear them.

Also Kazadoom, though I don't really want to get dragged into a political and religious issue that people keep trying to drag into this thread, I will give you props for your views and for you sticking to them.

It's amazing how cynical people get when you say you care about them and then mention Jesus. It's as if they think religion somehow negates a person's ability to care about their fellow human beings instead of fostering it. Even I sometimes find it a little embarrassing when someone attributes their goodwill to their religion, but I at least recognize that there are far too many people willing to blame everything bad on religion, that it has honestly become necessary to make people aware of the good things that religion does.

I also find it rather unsettling, even if it's in jest, that I've heard far more people on the liberal spectrum that will say things like "If I came across (opposing party member) I'd do (some sort of harm to them)" I've rarely heard this level of personal malevolence on the conservative end. Sure, I've heard bigotry and hatred along the lines of "I hope they (have something bad happen to them)" but rarely has it been of such a personal level. Just anecdotal evidence there, but still troubling nonetheless.

I don't plan on posting here again, but I just wanted to make sure that people don't think Kazadoom is unsupported on his views.
