Forums - Gaming - Have you ever broken a CURRENT gen control by dropping it?

Never, the closest I've come was dropping my 360 controller by mistake. It fell buttons down (I thought I was screwed ) but it worked afterward. Back in the day I lost a Sega Genesis controller after spilling soda on it. The buttons got all sticky and it was useless.

Now Playing: Crysis 2

Last Finished: BulletStorm

Online IDs: PSN: computermaximus, XBL: computermaximus

I haven't broken any current controllers but I went through about 10 Dualshocks back in the day. I have a pretty pissy temper and would often vent my frustrations on the controller. Punching a Dualshock will break the analogs every time.

On that note, fuck Syphon Filter. That game ended up costing me over $100 because of its shitty control system.

i smacked my wii remote a few times on different things. stills works

Need people to play online with me for Brawl.

Name is DROAK.

Not a one. The worst I've suffered, in fact, was about 4 of my PS1 DualShock controllers and 1 PS2 one going wonky on me. My PS1 controllers were the strangest, though. First one ended up with insanely loose analogs, second one stopped responding to X button presses, third one got a sticky left analog, and the fourth one just plain stopped working entirely. The PS2 controller that went weird on me would randomly have the left analog get jammed into the upper-most position.

Sky Render - Sanity is for the weak.

Well, my DS 2s are in prety bad states, but only cause the analogue sticks barely grip because of overuse, I have never abused any of my consoles, but I do hit my PC nearly every single day

I am careful with my stuff, personally I have only dropped a gaming related possesion three times, which was once each for the N64, GC and Wii... they all survived fine.
Controller wise my Wii remote was thrown into the VCR/DVD player by my uncle, but nothing happened to it.

 Ye.  we know.

Dualshock is full of fail for FPS, or shooters in general.

Heheh, actually, Syphon Filter had this weird lock-on system that would change the direction you were moving if you used it while running. It sent me off a cliff more than a few times and two controllers suffered an untimely demise as a result.

Every single console I've had, I've broken controllers. I haven't broken a wiimote yet, but I'm getting close. I've snapped the hinge parts off the battery cover so I can't use that anymore. :P Soon I'll need a new wiimote so I'll get the wiiplay one :o

Never really broken a controller besides Gamecube controllers (But those had a good life before they broke). Sometimes I get mad and frustrated while playing video games. Luckily, most controllers are built tough (especially Nintendo ones). =]
