Has anyone else ever played (and beaten) Spelunker?  This is one game that will certainly make you throw your controller...but it's great fun.  At least, that's the way I remember it.  I don't know why I bought it so many years ago.  Maybe someone got it for me....maybe I saw a short snippet in a game magazine (highly doubtful), or maybe I just saw a pretty cover and got reeled in (more likely).  But the point is....I bought it and my brother and I must have tried to beat it for at least a year.  We succeeded, but it turns out that beating it is like beating an Atari game: it just loops back around.

Anti-climax much.

Nonetheless, I'm picking this up today, if nothing else than for the nostalgia (and to see if I'm still hardcore).

Anyone remember this game?

Haven't gotten it yet. Like I said, I beat it as a kid. Now I'm just waiting to see if my nostalgia bug wears off before I make the jump. It's a good game...but very hard. Even the smallest mistake costs you a life.

The good thing is that it is a NES title, so it only puts you back 500 points. Still waffling between getting this and Simon's Quest.
