Well, it's definitely not for lack of trying.
*PSP's firmware updates faster than the time it takes Hilton to undress *Tons of incentive Sony tries to throw at people for updating their firmware * Sony (unofficially) threatened Dark_Alex more than once.
It isn't really too much you can blame Sony for it, considering how little (or none) Nintendo has done to discourage piracy in their handheld.
Also, it's sad to see Sony getting PWNED by hacker in every firmware update. lol |
People blame piracy for way too much. The DS is pirated far easier than the PSP... I know, I owned both. For the DS you just buy an R4 card and... that's it. (Please note I in NO WAY encourage this, as I think it's a horrible thing to do to developers).
I had a hacked PSP to use as a portable emulator and believe me it was a pain. I hacked my PSP to emulate my old games, not to stop buying new ones. To buy new games I had to constantly wait for new custom firmware updates because the new games would come out unplayable or playable only in Pirated form, which I had no intention whatsoever of doing.
Also, just a side note but I think this is such an awesome way to deal with piracy http://news.softpedia.com/news/Thanks-For-Playing-Pirated-Games-80803.shtml
I'm sure the dumpers patched it within days, but it's still awesome.
Anyway, I own tons of those games on the DS and a good portion on the PSP games (I haven't sold the games, despite my PSP being stolen a while back). Both systems are good for what they are, but they excell at different things.
