IMHO the even Bigger news is that a company other than Nintendo is making Amiibos... This can lead up to all types of devs to make them and will give us access to a whole bunch of characters from other series we wouldn't even dream of owning... And of course Nintendo will get there share in the pie in the profits...

Win - win - Win situation all around for Fans, Other Developers, and Nintendo.
