Forums - Gaming - Sony's Steinberg: We'll be marketing GTAIV as well.

i think gta iv can move some ps2 owners to upgrade to a ps3.

most played previous gta games on their ps2, and if there looking to buy gta iv, theyll prolly buy a ps3, a sony console.

I wouldn´t bet on it, the average consumer isn´t as loyal as you think, they see an ad that states "Only complete GTA4 experiance with huge content comming only for the 360" they might just say "Screw Sony I want the complete version." Customers are such hores, they see a cheaper 360 with more content so they might just go for that. Then again some will want to stay loyal to Sony for other games... so its hard to tell.

probably wont say what the content is. until people go out and buy a 360 for GTA. then tell them its expensive or not that great. or both.

To quote an awesome poll I once saw on Gamespot:

"In other news, the sun came up this morning and pie tastes great!"

Could I trouble you for some maple syrup to go with the plate of roffles you just served up?

Tag, courtesy of fkusumot: "Why do most of the PS3 fanboys have avatars that looks totally pissed?"
"Ok, girl's trapped in the elevator, and the power's off.  I swear, if a zombie comes around the next corner..."

There is an interview with the corporate vice president of Xbox later on in the same video, and Geoff Keighly doesn't hold back with the punches. "HD-DVD has pulled out of the format war, do you know when the funeral is?"

The guy then goes into a defensive rant about how the 360 is "the best gaming machine, it's the right console to buy, it's got the best games, we've got the best online, only online service with gamer score..."

Geoff Keighly just keeps nodding blankly, going "right..." "yeah..."

I love it when they hit them with the tough questions. =D

I wonder how it's going to work with both companies advertising the one game.

Will Sony try to get the most advertising in Europe, with Microsoft taking NA?

It would make sense to spend the money in your strongest market.

Well most users wont know or care about the donwloadable content .And those who will buy a console just for this when they learn they have to pay for the downloadable content and pay again to play the online multiplayer subscribing to Live ...they may run scared of the 360 .The game+Live fees+DLC content can go to 150-180 dollars .Better take the PS3 version and the PS3 with its Blu Ray player and free online gaming .At least many of those that intend to buy a console just for this will do that ....no way will they subscribe to a annual fee just to play GTAIV .

Also, I think a lot of it depends on how big the DLC is

If the DLC is huge the 360 will get a lot more sales, if its just something small and silly, most people wont' care like Diomedes1976 said...

Personally, I'll be grabbing the PS3 version... Especially after reading about the Online Multiplayer, this will bring hundreds over hours of gameplay for me, so the DLC won't be that important to me (unless its huge)

You do not need to pay for Live just to have the privilege of paying for more stuff. Only for multiplayer, how many people do I need to explain this to?

Um...he said you need to pay for Live to play online.  This is true. :|

With the ps3 version, you pay $60 for the game with online.  For the 360 version, you pay $60 for the game without online, and can choose to pay more money for either DLC, online play, or both.
