I've also have had arguments with people here who somehow didn't enjoy Fallout: New Vegas.

| Nem said: It is perfectly normal FFXIII is complete trash. The people who unexplicably seem to enjoy it are over represented on these forums. The XIII series lowered sales of the series from millions to less than a million, even though the 3rd game didnt deserve it. But it just goes to show the damage the first two caused. I also have had arguments with people here who somehow say this combat is fun. I dont know how changing between 3 paradigms and watching the game play itself is considered fun. I have been unconvinced and i played longer than you did. |
@Bold If anything the majority of the users here loathe the game and the OP just proves that further ...
FF13 was ok, not good, not bad. There are many things wrong with it, but it also had a lot of nice ideas.
Thing is I liked the battles better than FF12. I liked FF13 more than FF10 and FF12 (both which I have never finished).
The thing I dont understand is how people criticise the battle system of FF13 but praise the battles in FF12. To me FF13 battles was the next logical step in the direction SE was taking it. Auto battles and all.

You liked it more than FFX ? Strange since I hear people saying that FFXIII is an inferior version of FFX ...
Do my eyes deceive me ?
I also felt alientated with FFXII's battle system ...
13 was alright imo. Cool battle system at some fights (cause in some areas is X to win unless you are underpowered), some cool characters and amazing ost.
On the other hand I loved 13-2, the story wasn't really complex but everything else was superb to me. It has my fav soundtrack in the series alongside 4/7.
You shouldn't lose faith in the franchise at least not for now. 15 looks like will be different so no need to kill the series yet. Give it a chance...
It's ok, don't worry if it was too hard for you, it happens.
“It appeared that there had even been demonstrations to thank Big Brother for raising the chocolate ration to twenty grams a week. And only yesterday, he reflected, it had been announced that the ration was to be reduced to twenty grams a week. Was it possible that they could swallow that, after only twenty-four hours? Yes, they swallowed it.”
- George Orwell, ‘1984’
I've finished FF XIII and I like it, a lot of things have improved on XIII-2. For the battle system it is fine especially if you have 2 other characters with you. The man gripe for XIII is, it is too linear and your main character if she/he died, it is game over. Other than that, I'm okay with FF XIII. For me, not the worst FF.
You are using only the auto-attack or auto-skill provided to you, you won't win in several boss fights if you just used the X button.

Same here. Been trying to give the game a second try on Steam, but put it on the back burner again a few months ago. Too many other good games to play. I want to beat it so that I can play Lightning Returns, which actually looks fun to me.

for x-2, not only gameplay but also story.. i personally think that X has a perfect ending, SE just want to squeezemore money from it |
I'm currently playing X-2, and I have to say the story gets way better around chapter 3. The dialogue and presentation are pretty awful and cringey at the beginning of the game, but it definitely improves. It's like playing a different game.
Both X & XIII had a lot of unused resources which is why we saw sequels. The XIII sequels get better in gameplay but worse in story.
