I actually keep an Excel spreadsheet which I update weekly with worldwide numbers from VG Chartz, and I update it each week by reviewing the past weeks and adjusting numbers accordingly. It takes me all of 2 hours a week on average, and it's a useful service I can offer VG Chartz users. Why is there a thread on this every friggin day? Nintendo is putting out just enough to meet their financial goals and then gonna spurt out more to start off the next fiscal year on a high note, they did the *exact* same thing last year with almost no consoles around in March and then big spikes in April.

It could also be that they're ramping up production, and that process usually results in slower production during the upgrade until it's completed.

How is it possible that a mod of this site doesnt know how to check the numbers properly, and start a nonsense thread, when he should be more than aware of the numbers and sales here.

Nintendo is stockpiling for major launches and releases, theres no way demand died like that.

And about PooperScooper he is always here to troll on Nintendo topics, dont worry about him anymore, check his wall to see what people think about him.

I don't think there is any significant stockpiling going on, and if by the end of March there is a total of 24 million + Wiis, then it is pretty obvious there is less than 600k extra in "stockpiles" which are much more likely the holdover Nintendo has from 1 quarter to another so they can follow their quarterly goals better.

There is definately no stockpiling for Christmas (not yet and not likely for a good 4-5 months) and any they might be doing for China is certainly minimal now, and will likely be minimal in total anyway (I highly doubt they need 1 milkion to launch there, and 500k would probably suffice)

Forgot to add the main reason why I think Jan+Feb sales are low... if you remember Nintendo air shipped a lot of production in December probably 900-1000k that would otherwise have come in 2008, they kept air shipping some so that all those lost consoles were not from January alone, thus February has been affected, and there may be a little decrease for March,... what would have normally been shipped this quarter is 5.4 million, but that was decreased by 1 million due to December, and an extra 400-600k will likely be a holdover for the start of Fiscal 2009.

My outlook on stockpiling. 1/2 million nits per month from Jan-Oct is 5 million units. If Nintendo can't sell 8.6 million Wii in November and December this year I will eat my hat.

I won't even get into the small details because this thread is already over and I am just piling on but expect a production increase to be announced when the tearly numbers come in.
