Interesting that it's the pinnacle to you. Chrono Cross (at least in my eyes) was a very bad sequel to Trigger. I hated the cast, the gameplay, the easy difficulty, the amount of characters, and could go on for some time.

I went about 80% through and gave up. I think I expected something much different, and it led to that disappointment.

Exactly... Lucky for me I started with Chrono Cross instead of Chrono Trigger. I eventually played CT and to be honest I didn't find it as amazing as CC. It's all because of the stupid name of the game!!!!

I started with CT and still think CC was a better RPG, when maybe not a better "Chrono" game.  Still in my top 5 RPGs, but not at the top.

It's an alright game. I've never really been too big a fan of RPGs from the 5th gen. The PS1 couldn't do them justice. But it's good to see the game get recognition. Let's just hope it doesn't get overhyped like people did with FF9.

Oh stop,Chrono has a huge following. Its not some black sheep. The only people who CC crap are the people who couldn't get over CT cast not being the lead.

 As for the game, I wont argue with the statement it was the pinnacle of genre. I spent enyire summer playing this game.

I am actually in the middle of that game right now! what I have played is amazing, and I look forward too beating it. I haven't really found a true connection to chrono trigger yet,
(except that the line "chrono trigger" has appeared in the game.)
I understand that people don't like it because of its loose connection, but it really seems to be a great game so far.

I am taking a couple of months off from the game right now... I like making games as great as this last!
