I put in around $60 for Yooka-Laylee. I'd go back and do the British money conversion, but I'm reasonably certain the total came out to just around $60. I don't crowdfund pretty much ever, and I only backed Yooka-Laylee because I trusted the team could bring me a type of game I feel has been woefully underrepresented this past decade, unless you like Lego games. I would have backed Bloodstained, but Yooka-Laylee was kind of my limit.

Basically, I don't really deal in crowdfunding. I get the idea and I like it, but I have heard too many horror stories and not enough news from people happy with how everything turned out.

Never backed anything nor do I have any plans to. I don't agree with paying for a service without any guarantee of getting what I want. More and more Kickstarter is being exploited by those who want to grab cash and run, I don't want to support that tbh.

Your poll is missing a "I will put more than $30 into a project" option. Generally speaking, $20 for a digital-only game is the limit, but will toss in a full $60 for physical. There's no exact science here, but I only back games that to me look like they have a real shot at being actually finished without being half-assed. I haven't been burned (yet).

As I've never dropped money on a mobile game, chances are absolutely slim I'd ever back one.

+1

I backed over 50 games, none of them being mobile games (well, Godus also had a mobile part, but I choose the desktop version). How much I backed does vary from game to game, but most of the time it lies between 20 and 50$. It all depends on the game itself and the reward tiers. I went up to 125$ for Homestuck Adventure Game but also as low as 5$ for several projects, so an exact rate of how much I spend can't be given. My median pledge is as high as 44$ however, mainly due to Homestuck and OUYA pushing the number up, else it would be around 36$

The only game I backed was Carmageddon Reincarnation and it turned out shockingly bad both technical and gameplay wise, but I could not resist since original Carma is one of my fav.

My Etsy store

My Ebay store

Deus Ex (2000) - a game that pushes the boundaries of what the video game medium is capable of to a degree unmatched to this very day.

Nope, I don't think I will either.

Was your +1 for the bolded statement or for the underlined one? Ok, Let's see if I can figure out how to edit the poll

When I try to edit the poll, it says "There is currently not a poll with this thread. Click here to add one."
If anyone knows how to do it, please let me know.

It was for pretty much his whole statement. Else, I would have cut the quote to size. Only thing I "disagree" with him is about how much I would spend on a digital copy, but that's about it.

I never have, but I would if I was interested in the project.
