Nah, no one is complaining. Just making the point that for a vast majority of people, no, PS3 was no backwards compatible last gen. Hope that helps.

Doesn't change my initial statement.  Hope that helps.

It does, though, whether you're going to admit it or not.

Maybe you don't understand how quickly Sony removed the PS2 BC, idk. But your comment was silly considering Sony started taking away BC right after the first model.

After the 3rd model. The 20gb and 60gb had full bc. The 80 had software bc. So it wasn't until after the 4th model. He was also talking about the early years when people were saying the ps3 had no games. So those models were available in that timeframe. So the was majority of the owners then did have some form of  bc for ps2 and full bc for ps1

Wow, so you include a bunch of old ps3 games remastered/ports? Why aren't we counting wii u bc or xbox one bc? Oh, that wouldn't fit your guys agenda.

Then we should include PS Now too!

Nope, because unlike the games we are talking about, you can't own it and you have to rely on another piece of hardware/service. Its like saying killzone shadow fall is on the vita (because of vita/ps4 cross play) or destiny is now on pc because you can stream xbox one games to pc or soon all pc games are on xbox one because you can stream to it.

OT: The main reason why I brought up bc is because people are bringing up old ps3 games being ported over to ps4.

News flash: The primary function of owning a PC is to not play games.  Sure, almost everyone owns a PC, like myself, but I refuse to play any sort of games on them.  Just because you play both PC games and console games doesn't mean that everyone else does.  In fact, I would argue that most gamers stick to one or the other.

@bold -  So then are you prepared to eliminate every XB1 console exclusive game that is also on the PC?  Are those XB1 PC ports "filler" as well?  You can't have it both ways

Exclusive means you cant get them anywhere else, except half of the PS4 list is available on PC. I would say dont include XB1 titles aswell because there not pure exclusives. I am a PC gamer and i can tell you judging from that list, there are alot of high quality exclusives on X1 not availble to me.  Excluding the PC games from both line ups makes this list alittle more interesting.

I got you a present;

I bet that on launch the Nintendo Switch will have no built in in-game voice chat. He bets that it will. The winner gets six months of avatar control over the other user.

Maybe you just forgot what you said? Idk.I understand you were just trying to point out hypocrisy in console warz, but your example was just weak.

Your point about PS3 being BC with PS2 when people were screaming "no gamez!1" doesn't mean anything when for most of those people, PS3 wasn't BC. That's why BC games didn't count last gen. You can't count something if 90% of the userbase can't use it. Such is the slippery slope you experience when companies take features away. Direct any further confusion towards Sony, please.

I know exactly what I said and my argument was not weak and here is why:

Backwards compatibility was a feature that was released at the beginning of the PS3 era.  Many would argue that this is the best time for backwards compatiblity to be introduced because it offers consumers the ability to upgrade without the worry of not playing old/unfinished games, while providing the option to purchase the new games.

The BC on the PS3 provided the library of the PS2, the largest game library out of any home or handheld gaming device, coupled with the PS1 library.

When did people claim that PS3 got no gaemz? At the beginning or the end of the console generation?

Of course, it was at the beginning, which was the exact time that the PS3 had BC.  I have seen people on these forums claim that "got no gaemz" doesn't actually mean that it doesn't have any games, but rather "no games that I want to play".  Of course this doesn't hold true because the PS2 game library was very diverse and appealed to everyone, not to mention the diverse lineup of the PS1 games.

Therefore, the newly released PS3 games are the "got no gaemz = no games that I want to play" instead of all of the BC games.  From that, it is very easy to infer that people discredited those BC games as actual PS3 games.

These instances occured before the removal of the BC feature on the PS3, which is why your point has nothing to do with the point I was making.  The fact of the matter is that people discredited these BC games on the PS3, as I have shown, and therefore should not be included now.

You are forgetting something. Anyone can buy an old BC PS3 if they so chose, and thus anyone could have that BC. While for the XB1 you cannot have BC for 100% of its lifetime so far and it shall be limited anyways once it is released.

I completely agree, and I made that exact statement previously shown here:
