Last generation, Playstation 3 had backwards compatibility with the PS1 and PS2 (largest game library) and what response did we get?

Ps3 got no gaemz!!

The backward compatible games didn't count back then, then why should they count now besides fitting your agenda?

Well, arcade-ish digital-only indie titles didn't count either. They do, now. Times change.

So when people were playing on the PS1 and PS2, those games were classified as games.  Then suddenly those games were no longer classified as games when on the PS3.  Now times have changed and BC games are now counted as games again?

XB360 had a small library of BC games while the PS3 had a huge library - BC games didn't count

Now XB1 has BC while PS4 doesn't - Now it counts

Holy shit! My PS3 must have been faulty. It didnt have backwards compatibility.

You are complaining about choosing to not pick up a backwards compatible PS3.  Blame yourself

Nah, no one is complaining. Just making the point that for a vast majority of people, no, PS3 was no backwards compatible last gen. Hope that helps.

To be honest, backward compatible games shouldn't count, as they're not games from that console per se (it just happens that the console can play them). PS1 and PS2 are not PS3 games; OG Xbox and Xbox 360 games are not X1 games, but both consoles are able to play them.

360 didn't have a small library, though. It managed to include most games - albeit with some emulation problems along the way (like that Harry Potter one running at 200% speed xD) -, while PS3 sacrificed PS2 compatibility on newer models (thus removing a lot of games on the list for a lot of subsequent owners). But anyway, I stand still, those are not games from those consoles themselves.

The problem is that these kind of discussions have people using their certain criteria. Rarely that criteria satisfies every party involved in the discussion, whether because it's too open, too closed, too biased or too unbiased. As I said, indie games didn't use to count in exclusives lists, because they weren't treated as games. Nowadays AA games are on the brink of vanishing, being divided into indie or AAA categories, and thus, they do count now.

Maybe you should take that as a sign that no one else cares about such a list then...

I care, so your term *no one cares* is invalid. Seems like alot of fans dont want to make a list excluding PC games. I wonder why?

My term was actually 'no one else cares'.

And maybe no one wants to do such a list because, quite frankly it doesn't matter. PCs don't really compete with consoles so it really doesn't matter if they share games.

And how so do they not compete with consoles? As far as I know, if I purchase X game on PC, I'm definetly not going to purchase said game once again on a console and vice-versa. Also, every minute that someone spends gaming on a pc is time less that they will spend playing on consoles.

So yes, PCs do compete with consoles and I'd bet you that if you asked any high level executives of any console manufacturer or say Nvidia, they would all agree.

Predictions for LT console sales:

PS4: 120M

XB1: 70M

WiiU: 14M

3DS: 60M

Vita: 13M

100% of PS3s were backwards compatible with PS1 games...

And he said PS1/2.. so yeah. Thanks.

Doesn't change my initial statement.  Hope that helps.

That actually sounds like it could be fun

One of the strangest problems was with Half-Life 2: from the very moment you start a new game, you'd have exactly two months to beat it or the save file would corrupt itself just because, and you'd have to start all over again, having, once again, two exact months to do it.

Lol its hilarious how some Xbox fans think making a "only on" console list helps them with proving the quality or quantity of their exclusives. So where's it at?!

Wow, so you include a bunch of old ps3 games remastered/ports? Why aren't we counting wii u bc or xbox one bc? Oh, that wouldn't fit your guys agenda.

Then we should include PS Now too!
