I dont think so.

I think it's way better than what it was when it launched, and MS deserved that at launch. But they have become an amazing company for gamers since, and the media has noticed. You still have hold outs, and lost causes (GAF). And your people who will claim there isn't any (usually fans of Sony).

Seems like it's Nintendo's turn now. Though, like the Xbine at launch, it's mostly warranted.

I listened to about 10 minutes of it and the guy seemed pretty much on track. Any initial bias was related to the mistakes Xbox made at the beginning of the generation, which set in place policies like the PS4 version being the one that usually gets reviewed. The damage in that regard is lasting. Otherwise, no, the "media" as a whole isn't biased to a meaningful degree. Sure, you'll find individuals who are but that's true of both sides.

And, as he says in the video, the idea that suddenly the people who were supposedly biased against Sony last gen are now biased against Microsoft this gen is silly.

TBH a lot of the negative criticisms were earned.

The gaming media will never call out on PS4 faults too much because there is way too many ps4 fans and they will lose traffic as soon as they do. Although media is right now praising xbox one, notice how no one called out on Sony missing gamescon or their lack of first party games this gen so far or how their games are getting delayed constantly.

This.

They were so eager to jump the hate-wagon with their vocal audience that very few bother to check how the real world marketing was moving.

Now, only two years later I see more and more people going away from physical midia. I for that matter can´t stand geting up and change de disc.

However, it seems that the little good will MS has gained recently is in part due to Sony first party output being far lower than expected.

Also, most of the appocalyptic rethorics we heard was pure BS. Here some few exemples:

- XOne development kit is terrible.

- XOne games will look so bad that they will be almost unplayable.

- The gap in performance will grow.

- Third party studios will make many exclusive deals with Sony.

- PS4 will repeat PS2 era domination.

"Is The Media Biased Against The Xbox One?"

No.

If anything Id say most american media is biased "for" the xbox.

They did the same thing with Sony, too. Ps3 era. At the time, I didn't care about Xbox in the least but the media was so anti Sony (and like xb1, some was deserved but some was outright hateful and false) that it effected my opinion.

Later on, they became more fair.

I remember how people were saying all third party games will become PS4 exclusives. That is hilarious to me. Even if the ps4 outsells the xbox one there is way too much money to be made on xbox one and the fact it is easy to port games between consoles / pc these days.

PS4 seems to be the console of choice to review console versions of multi-platform games. But that's also because the games tend to look and run a little better on PS4 so publishers actually want reviewers to use the PS4 version. So yes i guess there is bias but not really against Xbox One, but a preference for the PS4.
