Damn thats alot weaker than I thought it would be..... the Ouye name seems fitting then.

I just assumed due to its size, that it would be clocked much higher than the Tablets that run the same chips, and thus might be a good bit more powerfull than that.

^ this had me thinking it might be abit stronger than a Ouya.

also possible on OUYA:

There's not much benchmarks to go with, but in T-Rex Onda 989 is some 5x faster than Ouya - so yeah, this should be lot faster than Ouya.

It's the MicroSony Clonesole.

...Sorry...

Do you have a Link to the Benchmark?

https://gfxbench.com/compare.jsp?benchmark=gfx31&did1=4750&os1=Android&api1=gl&hwtype1=GPU&hwname1=NVIDIA%28R%29+Tegra%28R%29+3&D2=Onda+V989+Core8

For comparison, this latest nVidia's venture into Android territory, Shield Android TV, is some 30x faster than Ouya in T-Rex...at least according to GFX Bench.

For those interested: This is the chip featured in this console:

http://www.allwinnertech.com/en/clq/processora/A80.html

This hardware is rather dated already, the chip had already been used in some appliances in spring 2014, and the GPU part is from spring 2012. In other words, it will barely beat the OUYA in performance.

What's it's price in $/€ for the base model? (just curious)

Hmmm could be a little bit cheap...  And PowerVR is still around. Wow. o.o

Lacks a lot of benches for the OUYA, barely comparable at this state. It gets trounced in the T-Rex Bench 4-5 to 1 but curiously, the OUYA strikes back in the Render Quality departement

btw, I think this one is more or less what the console will have:

https://gfxbench.com/device.jsp?benchmark=gfx31&os=Android&api=gl&cpu-arch=ARM&hwtype=GPU&hwname=Imagination%20Technologies%20PowerVR%20Rogue%20G6230&did=8945&D=Allwinner%20UltraOcta%20A80%20%28development%20board%29

It's the development board of that chip, so the final values of the console should be around these values.

There is something familiar about the design choice but I can't quite put my finger on it.

This forum is on a roll today.

Yeah, there is not much to go with - I can't seem to find anymore GFXBench 2.7 results on site which should have more entries, given how old Tegra 3 is. But nevertheless, that's about the difference we're talking about, some 5x, given that Tegra 4 is somewhat stronger than G6230 and it's 5-6x faster than Tegra 3.
