He's already indicated that he wants to build diversity with his first-party line-up and that he basically wants his own Uncharted. What exactly is the point of your post? Him praising Nintys first party catalog triggered you to say this? Third party support isn't Sonys way lol. Pretty sure companies before Sony were gathering third party support. You are extremely loyal to Sony though so ridiculous and pointless posts aren't surprising.

Playstation is the model he's using for Xbox? What does that mean then?

That means he's looking at what Playstation has done with their first-party system and he wants to build the Xbox first-party portfolio to counter that.  He already stated that the Tomb Raider deal is an answer to Uncharted.  The Playstation strategy has been to have representation in multiple genres aimed at multiple demographics, which is one of the reasons the brand has done well on a world-wide basis.  Nintendo and Microsoft, on the other hand, are known to have a more narrow focus.  I don't think anyone can honestly dispute that.  Spencer is obviously working to change the "shooter box" impression a lot of people have of Xbox and I actually think he's made a good start.  However, he's not about to say, "we want to be like Sony's first-party network," not with the PS4 leading the market.

But why point out Playstation then, when you apparently aren't appealed by any of the major exclusives from the big three? And oh, you like Mass Effect? That's rather mainstream as well. Mass Effect is thus average (Hey, your own reasoning, not mine)

Not to mention that Playstation has a long list of games that weren't/aren't  AAA mainstream games (Ratchet & Clank, Sly Cooper, Bloodborne, Ico, Shadow of the Collosus, Dreams etc.)

 

Also what about JRPGS? They're mainstream in Japan but most of them are niche in the west, does that mean JRPGs are average in Japan, but good in the west? No? Aka your logic is flawed.
