Again, subjective.

I'd rather sit with their Xbox content than most of their other games. I'm sure many feel the same given how poorly much of their past content has aged. Tolerating pre Xbox era Rare requires a lot of nostalgia. Especially given how much of their N64 content that received acclaim was actually garbage.

But hey, you're entitled to your opinins no matter how wrong they are.

When It comes to RARE the "subjective" argument is nothing but a scapegoat for Xbox fans who don't want to accept the truth. If an opinion can be wrong, you are the one who's wrong.

Okay...

Lets pretend many Rare games haven't aged horribly and were never over rated. Yeah, lets do that.

I will assume most of the playable games were originally from Nintendo systems.

Well, you assume wrong: only half of the 30 games were originally from Nintendo systems. ;)

  • 7 games were originally from the ZX Spectrum
  • 8 games were originally from the NES (but Battletoads went multi-platform really fast)
  • 1 game is an arcade game: (Super) Battletoads Arcade
  • 1 game was originally an arcade version, but later ported to N64: Killer Instinct Gold)
  • 6 games were originally from the N64 (but the prettier 360-versions of Perfect Dark, Banjo-Kazooie + Banjo-Tooie were included)
  • 1 game was originally from the first Xbox: Grabbed by the Ghoulies
  • 6 games were originally from the Xbox360

I still hope for the "Conker Reloaded"-Xbox-version as DLC... preferably as uncensored version with "Grabbed by the Ghoulies"-treatment (smooth 1080p/60fps).

First I was going to skip the Spectrum- and NES-games, but I'm glad I gave every of these old games a chance... I especially like Atic Atac and Cobra Triangle. The "snapshot"-challenges of these classics are also great fun!

Someone needs to learn what the word "most" means.

Hance why I used the word "acclaimed" instead of "best".

The way your post is written sounds like anything not DK or Goldeneye is what sucks.

By the way, the Xbox work Rare did is actually some of their best work. But hey, its all subjective.

What in the....

Are you being real right now?

Rares best work was on the Xbox?

Rares best games were from the Nintendo era, thats why Microsoft bought them. They still havent been able to replicated the Stamper brothers/ Nintendo era for Microsoft which was the sole reason they were purchased. They are just a shell and a name.

I said some of their best work. Its a fair statment.

Banjo N&B is great. Viva Pinata is still praised. Some of their other Xbox games are at par or better than much of their old stuff.

No, no, no... Rare was purchased because MS wanted to appeal to casual gamers. Rare delivered good games, some arguably better than their N64 games, but without Nintendo's casual audience sales were modest.
People act like Rare faded into obscurity under MS. In reality they made some good games, had some million sellers, and even had a big hit with Kinect Sports. They got a game coming and their classic IPs are still being used. Rare didnt make the new KI but MS made damn good use of that IP.
Regardless of what reason MS bought Rare, it certainly wasnt a boondoggle. They had some success and MS got a lot of classic IPs they can work with down the road.

Ahhh... Used to play Killer Instinct(SNES), Banjo, Battletoads(NES), Conker(Gameboy Color) & Goldeneye on Nintendo...

Now look what happened to Rareware, bought out by Microsoft about %100 stake, made me buy Xbox, Xbox 360 & Xbox One just for Rare games.

Sigh yep.

Sorry, before Halo there was goldeneye. Rare was never more popular than the Nintendo era. People are actually more disappointed in them today than at any point in their career, but then again the Stamper bros left.

Anyway, you're its your opinion. LOL

Seeing that was like a bad dream. Imagine Rare didnt make the Nintendo games and it was just Microsoft. LOL...what a horrible world to live in.

Nah. You interpreted it wrong. The way my post is written clearly points out that anything not Nintendo is what sucks.

Wait...is this serious? Is this really happening? Microsoft Rare has had exactly two good games in Viva Pinata, and Perfect Dark: Zero. The rest is at best mediocre (Killer Instinct) and at worst an abomonation(Kinect Sports Rivals).

Oh, and we don't talk about "Nuts & Bolts" in this household.

Bet with Adamblaziken:

I bet that on launch the Nintendo Switch will have no built in in-game voice chat. He bets that it will. The winner gets six months of avatar control over the other user.
