Forums - Gaming - TwitchPlay tries to conquer Dark Souls. First Boss Defeated!!! Asylum Escaped!!!

I'll give them 12 months to reach and beat the Taurus Demon.

This is like that time someone beat Dark Souls with a Guitar Hero Controller. Nobody thought he could do it, but he did.

Except it's a guitar hero controller with 10000 people playing it while some people are trying to quit the game with it.

Amazing they beat the boss. Now on to the rest of the game.

It is? How does the Twitch Play work anyway?

The same guy went on to beat the game with the drums, and then using voice commands via the mic. He is truly a god of using things that should not act as traditional controllers to beat Dark Souls.

Also, @the topic in general, they may have beaten the Asylum Demon, but the stream went spiraling downhill with the implementation they had to use to manage any progress. Now a move only happens every 20 or 30 seconds, basically using democracy to determine which move gets done. The game pauses between moves, meaning that the vast majority of the stream time is waiting for all the chat commands to be counted to reach a decision. Super boring.

I just watched the Pokemon version but basically the game monitors chat for controls so if someone types U then the gameboy emulator will try to input an up command, but yeah there was 9500 people in the chat at the start of dark souls most of whom were trying to click on the item to suicide the character.... successfully.

Sounds like they've changed it now to get some progress happening tho which is a bit of a shame, beating Pokemon was amazing to watch with the collective minds trying to succeed and those trying to stop it happening. I think at a point in pokemon they released about 10+ pokemon trying to get one of the legendary birds out of the PC into their party. Was great to watch.

Some people say Dark Souls is all about patience ;)
