Xenoblade Chronicles

Are you telling me this is what we COULD have gotten if Nintendo brought this to the Wii U instead of the 3DS?

Ability to play a game on a platform it can already be played on but with slightly prettier graphics

vs

Ability to play a game on a new platform it could not previously be played on

that looks like a totally different artstyle on TP.

I'm afraid you can't take something that doesn't exist.

Well it kinda exists

on the computer :(

Twilight Princess would need a huge amount of work to bring into HD due to the techniques used for various things (the cliff face models, the trees, the (limited) grass). You would need remodels for the cliffs, all new foliage models, just a *ton* of work.

Xenoblade would actually be less work, again because of the techniques used. The trees use a similar method to Oblivion and can work with high res textures. The grass and shrubbery can also just receive a high res paint job and be good. The cliff models are already pretty decent. Some could stand with changes and replacements, but most could work with a high res treatment. The towns would be where the hard work would really show up I think due to all the detail meshes like market stands and barrels show up. And the character models would need to be redone with much higher polygon counts. But overall, looking at the video that texture and shader pack already looks pretty nice.

Actually, now I think about it, you just made an argument against giving these games the full HD treatment. Why would anyone buy them on Wii U when someone has already made them on PC?

TP remake would sell a lot more thus the expenses would be justified.

Twilight Princess could do without that Skyward Sword-depth of field effect, and Link is weird looking but yeah, the game would look great if remastered. I don't need it in this generation yet though.
