Forums - Microsoft - Phil Spencer: I honestly don't goal the team on how many units Sony sells

At least half of what he is saying is BS

duduspace11 "Well, since we are estimating costs, Pokemon Red/Blue did cost Nintendo about $50m to make back in 1996"

Mr Puggsly: "Hehe, I said good profit. You said big profit. Frankly, not losing money is what I meant by good. Don't get hung up on semantics"

http://gamrconnect.vgchartz.com/post.php?id=9008994

Azzanation: "PS5 wouldn't sold out at launch without scalpers."

At least they're not last lol. Seriously though its good enough if the XOne is making a profit.

Xbox one is selling faster than the xbox 360. That is a win in my books. As long as you don't go backwards *Cough Nintendo Cough*.

I guess we'll find out how this plays out a bit later. I think he's accepting that price cuts won't win the gen.

Hilarious. Spencer is the master of saying the most obvious things yet says nothing. Last gen all we heard was Major Nelson, Aaron Greenberg taking shots at Sony every NPD...How does Humble pie taste MS? Spencer was a big part os the lean 360 years and the x1 poor launch, and the lacklustre first party games. All he does now is state the obvious as they had no other choice, and people act like he is a savior lol.

MS has no choice, it has nothing to do with anything else, they are not going to come close to PS4. They know it, that's all this is.

What did he say last year?

http://www.gameinformer.com/b/news/archive/2014/08/12/i-want-to-win-this-generation-says-xbox-boss-phil-spencer.aspx

Seems winning the gen isn't on the agenda anymore

Yeah, I was looking for that as well. Now instead he is saying "It’s not whether you win or lose, it’s how you play the game". He must have seen the last NPD numbers..

It really does seem like that. He seems like a nice guy though.

A question for Abun and others seconding hishers post.. What is he supposed to do in an interview if not answer questions? And how does what he says translate to nothing? I thought he said plenty and I like his visions for Xbox. I'm also confused because some say he says nothing and some seem to pick up things he didn't even say "basically he's saying yadayada.."

Why do the interview at all? He could have declined as he should have because this is all PR.This interview adds nothing to help the X1's reputation and he has already done enough interviews as is.You like his vision? Well he is just saying positive things as expected with no evidence backing his words, which is the problem.Yw are an Xbox fan so of course you want to believe and that clouds your judgment.

He says all the right things. It will be interesting to evaluate Xbox after he's had enough time to effect changes--

He already has. Kinect has pretty much been erased. Casual gaming, erased. Brand new, controller based UI coming this fall. Brand new, redesigned controller. 1TB of storage. Backwards compatibility. Complete shift from non gaming related shit to nothing but core games...

Alot of people think this guy is all talk because Xbox One isn't winning world wide. But those people obviously aren't paying attention.

The bold only happened because of lower than expected sales and the BC thing is just to use as hype for their overall average E3.BC brings nothing new or original to the X1 experience and just holds on to the 360,which is part of the problem.

I'm pretty sure BC brings a new feature to Xbox One lol
