In honor of Samus Aron for showing me how to jump on thwomps:
Popgo Thwomp 104C-0000-005F-C56F

A difficult course, all about bouncing on thwomps then riding the boss thwomp to the finish. I built in 3 check points so you don't have to start right from the beginning each time you fall. Just make sure you reach the door alive :) Bonus points if you can carry the fire flower all the way to the end.

This took a lot of play testing to get working. Now back to playing more levels from this thread.

I just finished your level, great desing and the checkpoints made it so much pleasant to play, smart idea.



                                                                                     

So yesterday I uploaded a second level but never posted about it here. Here it is:

"Clown-Car to Crystal Cave" - ID: 4AB8 0000 005D 329D

Apparently though, people still found and played it already. 6 no less, having completed it 5 times out of 46 tries. I thought it was shorter and easier than my other level (especially if you take the shortcut), but the numbers aren't showing it yet.

Anyway, among those, was our very own cyberninja, but I see Samus and Curmudgeon played it already too. Thanks guys. Cyber was kind enough to bring a sort of small glitch to my attention. You can get stuck above a brick block if you climb the vines above it. Coincidentally, that block is visable in the screenshot above. Don't go above it and if you do, get back before you get Super from the Mushroom that comes out of said block.

I don't really like to delete and update levels, especially when people already played and completed it because of both my and their stats. Now, I'll just warn you guys here about this issue, I guess that's my punishment for playtesting it less than I did the other level .

 

EDIT: The picture break everytime I post it on my iPad, that's annoying...

It certainly is a troll level. I kept getting stuck at the musical trampoline. No clue what to do with the feather, seemed like a dead-end. I check it out in the editor and found a path going straight up, involving a nasty hidden Yoshi. I can complete all the segments but doing it all in 1 go is too much for me. Nice troll level.

You can't actually get the feather in the same way you can't get the fire flower in the beginning.  Believe it or not, there is an easy way to go through the level.

I think I found that, or maybe there is an even easier way.
Stay small, go straight up, enter pipe, couple ice block jumps, over thwomps, jump on koopa then moving skull platform, get Yoshi from the hidden block, jump down to the right, enter the bottom path over the black flowers, jump of Yoshi in the pipe below it, jump off the conveyer belt, get another Yoshi, long jump to the right, get the star above the ice slide, then simply jump run to the finish. The odds of me doind all that in 1 go are very slim though.

An attempt to mix a platforming level with a puzzley level...not that the "puzzles" are very puzzley

I like the puzzles, yet not a fan of combining puzzles with pixel perfect jumping. I ran out of time on my first attempt lol. It was worth a download to practice it so I could finish it. Btw you can skip getting Yoshi, simply jump over the first saw and make a ramp from below by hitting the blocks.
Race to the finish, annoying jumps but since it's short it always keeps me going until I get it :)

I'll try the other levels later, Castle secrets and Zelda look interesting, too bad I'm out of time atm.

Yeah, that is what I was referring to.  You can take it one step further, though.

Yeah prolly shoulda given some of the jumps a little more room for error.  And yes, that was actualy...SORTA intentional. originally it was just to keep people from jumping back up, but then I realised it could be used to skip Yoshi, but I figured MOST people woulda gotten Yoshi before attempting anyways.

And Thanks!~  Glad to see you liked it! I'm actually working on another Zelda one, cause that one was my first puzzle thing so wanted to do it beter (Altho puzzles are a lot easoer in Mario World than Mario Bros.



I changed some issues my original version had, let´s call this one the easy version, the main change is that all power up are infinite, and I put boxes with the power ups in case you lose it on your way, so you don´t have to backtrack. So please play it and let me know if this levels feels like metroid. The original version is still available if you feel like taking the more difficult level.
