Wait I never knew Halo was rated M to begin with LOL.
Halo 4 was pretty intense.... I think all Halo would be fine for any teen with some parent supervision but deserve their Mature rating. But it's nice to see that 343 has achieve this rating by remove needless swearing and senseless violence that you see a lot in the Call of Duty franchise that is making a video game catered to Mature audience. Getting a Teen rating is a victory for Microsoft since it will open the game up to a much larger audience. (maybe not that much larger since most pre-Teen and Teen now a days only mostly play Mature games).
Why? Halo has its audience, I see no need on the fifth installment to lower the rating.

This. The flood dismemberment is probably the only thing that caused the M rating.
I don't think the blood is an issue for a T rating. A lot of games have had blood and still maintained a T rating. It seems Halo reduced the blood splattering post Halo:CE because it looked odd.

Without the flood all Halo games would get a T rating. I'm guessing this game doesn't have the flood.

No flood? That will be kind of a letdown, I think. I guess 343's Call of Halo series is continuing to veer away from Bungie's vision.

Flood is erased. And i'm actually happy that they not just simply returned the flood.
It's also nice to see some progress, though i'm not always happy with the direction. Especcially the no splitscreen.
Btw., ODST and Reach already had no Flood.
