Forums - Nintendo - Super Mario Maker Overview - sound, effects, music and daily tools

Ugh, fucking stupid to limit the options based on time with the game. Still buying, but that's stupid. Nintendo lol.

I think is very smart, the game has too much content and it can be overwhelming, this way you make people learn how to make levels from the basics, you keep it fun and simple, you have the player excited to see what´s coming next day (kind of like Animal Crossing), and at the 9th day you already have a player that feels familiar with the whole game, knows how everything works and is able to make decent complex levels and not only a chaotic mess.

The player is not gonna be bored because he is learning how to use the tools and he has more to combine everyday, but if it happens, no worries, he can also play other people levels, or the 60 in-game levels, or the 100 (or 10) Mario challenge.

Is a good idea that makes the game more accesible, the player more competent and it does no harm.

Yeeeap

Im making every zelda song stage!

and about the content limitation, not big deal.

I wouldnt open all smash bros characters playing only 5 minutes a day in 9 days.

People need to stop bitching about the content unlocking over a 9 day period.

At least it isn't paid DLC.

I didn't know that you had to actually beat the level you've created to be able to share it online. Good, that will save us from "funny" pranksters.

Please excuse my bad English.

This isn't the first Nintendo game who does this. In Pullblox World, you were already obliged to beat your own level first before uploading. Same for Mario vs Donkey Kong.

I didn't know that.

That shows that Nintendo is aware of the dangers of people trying to make fun of others.

It was discussed way back before that you should finish your level before you are able to upload it. Of course, if the level isn't playable, and just causes frustration, nobody wanted those type of levels.

If you can't beat your own level, then you may need to check if it really feasible to complete the game or not or try a different Mario game for your level, maybe use NSMBU which mario has a wall jump, etc...

Looks interesting, but the disk locked content irritates me.. why not have all the tools at once?!

[3DS] Winter Playtimes [Wii U]

I bet critics will blast this game because of the limited options at launch.

Nintendo really needs to stop doing this shit as it's pointless.

They need to be extremely stupid to low the game score for that, totally retarded. They were very stupid with Splatoon but at least that made a bit of sense because they were not able to play the locked content for the reviews and they didn´t know if Nintendo was rushing the game or it was actually a design choice (one that worked pretty well btw). This time however, it is pretty clear that is a design choice and they will be able to try all the content before the review.
