I'm not sure (someone correct me if I'm wrong) but they have the same story and characters. We don't know yet about the battle system of the PS4 version, but 3DS is turn-based. 3DS version has this cool feature: 3D on the upper screen, retro-2D in the lower screen. And the obvious advantages/disadvantages of being a portable or home console game.

Very nice looking for a 3DS game.

The 3Ds version would sell a ton in Japan, that is 100% certain.
Looks a great game on 3Ds, I'm sure the PS4 version would sell but it would be nowhere near the 3Ds sales. And the west, it might take months or a year to localize it if they haven't started localizing it. And DQ in the west won't be in the same numbers with Japan.

Pretty sure if you really want to say anything like this, they are wasting their time on the PS4 and NX versions.
